Yalong Bay is the China that surprises first-time visitors: a 7.5-kilometre crescent of powder-white sand and clear, warm water at the southern tip of Hainan Island, backed by palms and green hills. November is one of the best months to come — the summer rains are gone, daytime temperatures sit around 28–30°C, and the sea stays a comfortable 26–28°C, warm enough for swimming, snorkelling and paddleboarding without the midsummer humidity. The bay itself invites slow days: long walks on soft sand, sunrise swims, and seafood dinners in the evening. For a deeper experience, head up into Yalong Bay Tropical Paradise Forest Park, where rope bridges and lookout platforms above the rainforest canopy frame the whole bay from above — the contrast of jungle green and turquoise water is the view you will remember.
Tips: Walk the beach before 9 a.m. or after 4 p.m. for soft light and fewer people, and pack high-SPF sunscreen, a hat and sunglasses — the tropical sun is strong even in November. From here, Wuzhizhou Island makes an easy day trip for diving and snorkelling over coral reefs. Book beachfront stays on the bay itself, not just nearby, to avoid a long walk to the sand.
